Diabetes is the 6th Leading Cause of Death in US

Dr Joe Prendergast - The Leading Advocate of Self-Health Care, wrote 'Dr Joe's Rx For Managing Your Health'.
Over the last 33 years, Dr Joe has conducted long hours of research in the field of diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism. His book gives you hope and answers. He also created the Pacific Medical Research Foundation, using the internet, to reach people with information.
A short synopsis:
Diabetes - a lifetime diagnosis with severe and potentially life-threatening complications.
20 million Americans have Type 2 diabetes and they don't even know it. It often takes 7 years before the disease complications materialize. Diabetes is not a disease about sugar. It is problems with glucose regulation. It has reached epidemic proportions in the US. A1c is a test that measures the average blood sugar over the past 2-3 months, giving the Doctor information to diagnose.
Solutions:
People must know there are new discoveries, like the use of l-arginine, that can dramatically improve, and even reverse, many of the complications suffered by diabetics. Cardiovascular disease is a chief cause of death in people whose diabetes developed after age 30, often called hardening of the arteries. These complications can be largely prevented.

In 1991 30% of diabetic patients ended up seeing a cardiologist. In 2000 1% of his patients needed to see a cardiologist. Since then, his practice has had no patients suffer from heart attack or stroke. L-arginine is the single most important discovery in preventing heart disease and is the main ingredient in ProArgi9 Plus.

Exercise has positive effects. Start slow and work up to walking 4 miles per day, plus 20 minutes of strength training per week, and 30 minutes per week stretching. Walk, add l-arginine, lower your calories and fat, and reduce the risk of getting diabetes by 71% - for those over 60.

The benefits of l-arginine (ProArgi9 Plus) helps the body to release important hormones, increases lean muscle mass, speeds wound recovery, boosts the immune system, promotes healthy blood flow, stimulates sexuality by decreasing impotence and female sexual dysfunction, helps Alzheimer's patients, retards tumor growth, helps men with fertility problems, and reverses heart disease both arterial and atherosclerosis. More benefits to come!

Next time I will bring you Dr. Joe Prendergast's eating regime.

HEART HEALTHY

Homocysteine is a protein that can damage the lining of blood vessels, interfere with blood clotting, oxidize LDL, and cause the formation of arterial plaques. Homocysteine lowering is good for your heart. Keeping Homocysteine levels in check may help reduce cardiovascular disease risk. These lowering benefits can be obtained by eating certain foods, i.e., bell peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, milk, yogurt, and cold breakfast cereals. Of course, losing weight and exercising regularly also can help you stave off cardiovascular disease (CVD).
Cardiovascular disease is increased not only by family history but also from excess weight, diabetes, high blood pressure, advanced age, inactivity, high cholesterol, smoking, and being male. Do everything you can to get and stay healthy. Your future may depend on it. Minimize your exposure to toxins. Learn everything you can about what it takes to win, then enjoy every minute of health you have!

Accupoints and Meridians

Massage Therapists study acupressure points on the skin which relate to the body's meridians. The Chinese have used acupressure for beauty treatments on the face, as well. These points are located in special pathways that carry human life energy called by both the Chinese and Japanese 'chi'. Each point is assigned a location or identification number to track its placement along the body. The therapist uses thumbs, fingers, palms, knuckles, the side of the hand, or a tool, to apply steady, stationary pressure for approximately 3 minutes. Pressure should be within the patient's tolerance. The tissue gives a pulse, which is felt, indicating circulation has increased. The patient is asked to take a deep breath and release, during the treatment. The blockage or pain area will be released.

Here are a few locations. Midway between the scapulae, there are three points each side of the backbone that release coughing, asthma, heart palpitations, night sweats, loss of memory and panic attacks. These points when worked achieve balance in the body's energy level. On the glutes of the sacrum are the points for the small and large intestine, urinary bladder, sciatica, lower abdominal, stiffness and pain in the lower back and relieve constipation and irregular urination. At the trigger point area of the neck lies another Yu (meridian) point for stomach, nausea, vomiting and anorexia. Massage Therapist's using these tools will relieve nagging pains in their clients. Trigger point therapy is also used in these areas for additional relief.
