Smiles come from way down in your pain free essence. We want you to leave our massage table with that smile on your face and a song in your heart. Clients often say, "They feel like they are floating on air, as they walk".
If you could look down to a cross-section showing the inside of your leg, you would see the locations of the muscles around the femur bone of the leg. The Adductor muscles move this body part towards the midline of your body. Example: Think of riding a horse and clamping your legs tightly against the horse to stay on.
The “Big Bang” theory is completely null and void once you see how the human body is formed with bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, blood vessels, organs, eyes, ears, vocal chords, tissue, skin, sinew attachments, bands for strength, and your active brain.
The adductors of the hip - I have added their locations as follows: Adductor longus, abductor brevis, and adductor magnus are all located underneath the Pectineus muscle and attached to the Ischium and Pubis bones. The Ischium is part of the Ilium in the lateral pelvis. The Sacrum is attached to the hip bone (Greater Trocanter) by the Piriformis. The Epidermis lies on top of the three Adductor muscles (mentioned above); therefore, attaching the Sacrum with ligaments (Sacrotuberous, and sacrospinous) allows a solid structure and strength.
For muscles that continue to feel tired, tight, or painful, we use essential oils and apply manually to the painful area for deep penetration into the muscle. These essential oils need to stay on the body for 12 hours, if possible. Giving them time to penetrate and work deeply into the muscle. It is not unusual for the muscles that have been worked, by your massage therapist at Allchristie Massage Spa, to experience some tenderness afterwards. We advise our clients to drink plenty of water after their massage to allow the toxins and lymph fluids to move, be diluted, and expelled. If water is not taken for several hours, the body may feel stressed. Any stress may cause pain or swelling and this is not the effect you are seeking. Be sure to drink plenty of water after your massage.

CARPAL TUNNEL RELIEF AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE SPA IN SANDY UTAH
CARPAL TUNNEL RELIEF AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE SPA IN SANDY UTAH
PART TWO
AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE SPA we want you to understand your body and how to keep it active and working properly. Regular massage will bring you quality health. When overworking certain areas of the body, body work repairs will bring the area back to health - when addressed early.
Let me describe your hand to you. (See the bones picture in Part One) There are eight small bones in the wrist called carpal bones form a gliding joint, arranged in two adjacent rows of 4 carpals, the mid-carpal joint. These bones form the base of the carpal tunnel. A ligament forms the roof of the tunnel - like a bridge. Through the small carpal tunnel passes the nine flexor tendons, along with the median nerve. The flexor muscles originate at the elbow, go down the underside of your forearm, merge into the tendons, which then go through the carpal tunnel, and insert into your wrist, hand and fingers. Any pressure or a contraction exerted onto this area will squeeze the median nerve causing pain, and numbness to the hand and wrist.
The arm muscles that attach to the wrist are connected at the elbow. The Brachio-radialis muscle and the Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus muscle are attached to the humerous bone in the upper arm. The ankle is similar to the wrist in how it functions.
A trained massage therapists, at Allchristie Massage Spa, will begin by addressing the level of pain or discomfort you are feeling. Then talk to you about your job and any repetitive stress in your lifestyle that may cause injuries. If the level of pain is mild such as occasional tingling, numbness, weakness, or pain in your fingers or hand, we work to relieve the pain and inflammation.
Licensed massage therapists, at Allchristie Massage Spa, will utilize touch therapy to give relaxation to the muscles (a loosening or slack in the tendon), adjust the position of bones by stretching, and add lotion with essential oils to be absorbed, with pain reducing effects. We begin your therapy by stretching from hand to elbow along each muscle, shifting gradually from one side to the other. This will stretch or loosen the tight muscles and give relief. It will also flush out lactic acid and allow fresh blood to flow into your muscles.
We are not physicians and will not give medical advice. Looking on the internet, I found this medical information. If you choose to see a medical doctor, your doctor will probably prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs or may suggest surgery. Your doctor or hand surgeon may recommend an EMG or write you a prescription to take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to relieve pain and reduce swelling. He may also recommend you wear a wrist splint at night to keep your wrist in a neutral position and relieve pressure on your median nerve. Next, when your pain is gone, begin exercises for flexibility and strength for your arm and wrist. It is possible that conditions diagnosed as Arthritis or Fibromyalgia are actually tight muscles pulling on a joint.
Make your appointment today to talk about your wrist pain and schedule time for your pain relief!

CARPAL TUNNEL RELIEF AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE SPA IN SANDY UTAH
CARPAL TUNNEL RELIEF AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE SPA IN SANDY UTAH
Although, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the #1 Repetitive Motion Injury in the United States, massage therapists are trained to relieve the pressure and pain. At Allchristie Massage Spa we will use our expertise to massage your wrist and arm which may completely relieve your symptoms. For the best relief, you must schedule your appointment and start treatment when your symptoms first occur.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the condition where the medial nerve being pressed at the wrist, causes pain in the wrist and numbness in the thumb and first two fingers. The median nerve, which starts in the neck and travels down the arm to the wrist, and hand, can become entrapped anywhere along its path. At Allchristie, Massage of the arm and wrist is intended to prevent further or permanent damage to your median nerve. Massage will release the pressure on the nerve.
Repetitive motions, such as working at a computer terminal, playing computer games, telephone work, texting, playing a musical instrument, knitting, or sports which use the wrist, elbow and arm, will cause inflammation and swelling in the carpal tunnel. Your daily work or free time choices, causing you to use constant repetitive motions, will create spasms that will cause the condition. If left without changing your daily patterns and getting relief through massage, the pain will continue. Your doctor will prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs.
A simple explanation: Picture a boat on the water, it bobs up and down, it turns in each direction, it can move in a circle, so does your wrist. The wrist has metacarpals and joints that slide with extensor muscles, tendons, and carpal bones. These flat bone surfaces are lubricated with synovial fluid, allowing them to slide relative to each other. Some call it a miracle; it is because of the placement, attachments and insertion of our muscles that we can move.
At Allchristie Massage Spa we are licensed and trained to serve you with relief from your stress, strained or overused muscles.
We will schedule your appointments at times that serve your schedule.
Call 801 565-8515 today. We will work for your relief.

ARTHRITIS RELIEF AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE IN SANDY UTAH
ARTHRITIS RELIEF AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE IN SANDY UTAH
There are several types of arthritis. All of them involve pain, usually due to inflammation of one of more joints. This pain affects the ability to move freely. Scientists are confounded as to the reason it occurs and they offer little information on how to prevent or stop it. More than 55, 000,000 Americans suffer from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and related conditions, including gout, fibromyalgia, bursitis, lupus, scleroderma, Lyme disease, and several more.
The areas most often affected are found in the movable or synovial joints at the fingers, wrists, elbows, hips, knees, toes, back, and shoulders. The joints in the neck can also be painful. These boney areas usually have fluid and a smooth rubbery cartilage for protection during body movements. Once this cushion of protection is damaged the joint may rub on bone or cause swelling and pain.
Osteoarthritis is the most common type to develop past the age of sixty, sometimes earlier but rarely before forty. It is a result of wear and tear, the aging body, diet and lifestyle.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a type of inflammatory arthritis often called an autoimmune disorder. It is its-self attacking its-self, damaging cartilage and tissues in and around the joints. It creates stiffness, swelling, fatigue, weight loss, fever and crippling pain. It can be caused by bacterial, viral, or fungal infection of a joint. It travels through the blood stream, from the infection site, to a joint. The infection starts as redness, swelling and tenderness. It affects 71,000 young adults and most of these are females under the age of sixteen.
Gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis. It occurs most often in over-weight people who drink alcohol and eat rich foods with lots of meat choices. This causes deposits of crystallized uric acid salt in the join -- swelling appears next, redness, a feeling of hot heat, and extreme pain.
Allchristie Massage Spa offer therapists who care for you and about you. Now for the relief: Change the foods you eat. Eat alkaline foods and avoid acidic foods. Eat sulfur rich foods such as asparagus, eggs, garlic and onions. Eat fresh vegetables, whole grains, oatmeal, brown rice, fish, soybean products, avocados, pineapple, and non-acidic fresh fruits. You can eat flax seeds, oat bran, and rice bran ground up finely, every day. Avoid peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, and white potatoes. Take a vitamin and mineral supplement daily with no iron in the formula.
Since drugs do not always help everyone to reduce or relieve their pain, a gentle massage, using essential oils, with light pressure will relieve the pains and provide the warm feeling of being cared for.
Try a nice warm morning bath to give the joints better movement.

TEMPORALIS MUSCLE WORK AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE SANDY UTAH
TEMPORALIS MUSCLE WORK AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE SANDY UTAH
The Temporalis is located near the temple of your forehead and continues backwards towards the Occipital bone. The Temporalis is a large, scallop shaped muscle covering the side of the head, just above and behind the ear ranging almost to the eye socket. It is a common cause of headaches. Getting rid of headaches is a specialty of the Allchristie Massage Spa.
The Temporalis attaches to the mandible (jaw bone) and can cause problems with pain in the jaw due to it being too tight or stressed. Clients have suggested I hear the ‘click’ of the bone attachment by forcing their jaw sideways. Due to the Temporalis position surrounding several areas, its tightness may relate to molar teeth, eye brow pain, and check discomfort.
To work this muscle, the client lies supine (face up) on the table. Using cross-fiber stroking with the thumbs, from top to bottom, will release the pain in the Temporalis muscle. By moving the thumbs over the whole muscle, starting near the eye socket above the eyebrows, and continuing towards the back of the head a release is forthcoming. Note: This press and sliding apart action, depending on the size of the head, usually about one-to-two inches vertically, begins the muscle relaxation. Allchristie Massage works to relieve your uncomfortable pressure.
The therapist will continue the friction over the entire muscle until it is completely worked. A slight firm pressure also relieves the tightness. Check with the client to obtain the correct amount of pressure to prevent further pain. Even though the muscle is rather small, it will take time to relax it. Due to its location, the Temporalis muscle gets a lot of work, including talking, chewing, yawning, and even smiling. Allchristie Massage desires to keep you smiling without pain.
Aroma therapy can also be used to relax the client, while working on the Temporalis muscle. Adding soft relaxing music is also a benefit. Always ask the client, “What kind of music would you like to hear while you are on the table?” Allchristie Massage Spa has a variety of relaxing mood music available.
